If You Like Pina Colada’s, Try This Summer Drink Recipe

Today is National Pina Colada Day, so let’s celebrate with a summer drink recipe! We are spicing things up with a pineapple colada…ok, so technically it’s not a pina colada anymore because we omitted the cream of coconut. Not because we don’t like it, we just didn’t have it on hand and today is the day! We have to celebrate. Sometimes you gotta just go with the flow and be spontaneous. It might mean things aren’t perfect, but you can still have fun getting there. Isn’t that what “just living joy” is all about? You bet it is. Here’s today’s recipe and one you can use in the future.

Pineapple Colada

This cocktail you won’t have to feel guilty about. I found it on the Mix and Mingle on the Bubly sparkling water site. If Pineapple isn’t your thing they have tons of flavors to choose from with all kinds of cocktail ideas. Check them out here. https://www.bubly.com/mix/cocktails/index.php

  • 3-4 oz Pineapple Bubly sparkling water
  • 1 1/4 Coconut Malibu Rum
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • Garnish with a lime
  • Serve over ice

A “Real” Pina Colada Recipe

  • 6 ounces of white rum
  • 6 ounces of pineapple juice
  • Frozen pineapple chunks – just add as much as you want
  • 6 ounce of cream of coconut (not coconut cream)
  • Ice

Blend together and serve with a pineapple garnish on the glasses.

Did you know: Cream of coconut is a sweetened version of coconut cream. Confused? Ya, me too 🙂 Just trust us.
