5 Kitchen Gadgets You Need for Summer

Make your life a little easier this summer with these kitchen gadgets. Who doesn’t want that?! Here are five you won’t see me without.

Chop it Up

My all time, number one pick, forgot how much I love this thing is the Vidalia Chopper. There is no other. Some other companies have tried to copy this thing and it’s just not the same. I have had this for years…over a decade and it is still performing as good as the day I bought it. How can something that only costs a little over $20 work so well? I use it to chop potatoes, onions, garlic, and more. My fried potatoes actually cook more thoroughly when I use this. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (I even put it in caps, it’s that good).

Keep it Moist

First off, let’s cover the word “moist.” Why do people hate this word so much? It’s one of those words people think are so cringey. So I’m just going to say it over and over. Moist, moist, MOIST! Ha. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about meat thermometers. I have had so many meat thermometers, I’ve lost count. This thermometer is the one Jeff the Chef uses and I trust everything he uses. It’s also an Amazon’s Choice product, so I decided to give it a try. It is very important to use a meat thermometer because you don’t want dry or underdone meat. It’s waterproof, so it can be washed. I was a little skeptical about this at first, but it’s true. It reads your temp in 2-3 seconds with almost 100% accuracy. It has great reviews and we highly recommend it.

Chunky or Smooth

Next, this summer you are going to want a small food processor as part of your kitchen gadget toolbox. I got this smaller one for Christmas years ago and it’s worked like a charm for making my guacamole, salsa, squash soup, and more. You can get away with a smaller one for dips, but when I make soup, I have to work in sections so to speak. This works well even if you just want to chop your onions and garlic. I use it for my guac. I like it a little chunky, but not overly smooth. Pulse it a couple times and you’re good to go. No chopping necessary.

Pretty Teaspoons

What fun is a kitchen without metal teaspoons? It might not sound that exciting, but it is! At least it is to me. Maybe it’s because I used to have those old, ugly plastic ones and I these are so much prettier. I ogle over them each time I use them.

Honey, it’s Time for Dishes

Last, but not least you (I mean your spouse) wants to have fun doing your dishes, don’t you? I don’t know if I would call it fun, but it does help when you have pretty dish soap that smells good and a dish brush that not only looks nice, but works well. These two together make quite an attractive pair.

Any of these kitchen gadgets will bring a little more joy to you this summer and you may just find a product you can’t believe you’ve been living without.
