Calling Coffee Lover’s: Infused Coffee + Zulay Frother

Anyone else drinking twice as much coffee during this social distancing time as I am? I’m not sure if it’s boredom or what but I have different types of coffee throughout the day. I start out with my regular vitamin infused morning coffee and end my day with a sort of latte that would make a Barista cringe.

One of my guilty pleasures pre-coronavirus was Starbuck’s once or sometimes twice a week. Honestly, it was an expensive habit I really needed to break so this whole self-isolation thing made that a forced reality. Twenty-one days makes a habit they say.  No Star B’s for 30 days! That was an accomplishment but I was desperate for something to replace my guilty pleasure.

Luckily my bestie blog partner gave me the Zulay frother for Christmas! Let me just say, this thing has gotten a workout over the last month! I LOVE it. I had a cappuccino maker years ago but in the end, I didn’t use it nearly as much as I thought I would AND it took up a ton of counter space. Not only that the process to make a cappuccino was long and messy. I’m not a lazy person in general but I am too lazy for that.  I’m hopeful this has broken my almost $7 Starbuck’s coconut milk caramel macchiato habit.

Frothed Coffee

  • Archer Farms Caramel K-Cup
  • I have found Silk Oat Yeah to froth so nicely compared to other non dairy milks I’ve tried in the past.
  • Foam your milk with your Zulay frother and top your coffee with this creamy goodness. Voia!

Which brings me to my favorite infused coffee when I’m not whipping up some foam coffee.  Considering our current state, I figured I could use all the help I could get so I tried the Immunity bundle. Which includes both coffee and tea. The probiotic blend is infused with aloe and Vitamins B1, B5, B6, B9, and B12.

The Genius Blend has been a part of my mornings for a little over a year now. I love that it has tumeric in it and MCT oil. Here are just a few of the claimed medicinal properties.

Benefits of Tumeric:

  • Anti-inflammatory helps your body fight foreign invaders. It matches the effectiveness of some anti-inflammatory drugs without all of the nasty side effects.
  • Powerful antioxidant
  • Curcumin boosts level of brain hormones
  • Possibly will lower your risk of heart disease
  • May reduce the growth of many types of cancer

Benefits of MCT Oil:

  • MCT oil makes you feel full to aide in weight loss
  • According to Healthline it’s said to reduce your body weight and waist circumference
  • Can be used as an instant energy source
  • MCT can be converted into ketones(produced by breaking down fat when carb intake is low) It can help the body stay in the fat burning state known as ketosis – great if you’re on a ketogenic diet
  • Optimal growth in good bacteria
  • May reduce lactate build up in athletes (when lactic acid builds up in your bloodstream faster than your body can burn it)

Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are triglycerides with two or three fatty acids having an aliphatic tail of 6–12 carbon atoms, i.e., medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). Rich food sources for commercial extraction of MCTs include palm kernel oil and coconut oil.

    Hi Sherry,
Yes, I do find I’m drinking more coffee! I use Coconut Milk and it froths nicely but I will now try the Oat Milk. And that probiotic coffee sounds amazing. I will definitely check that out, too.

    Happy weekend,
    xx Darlene
