Self Care Sunday

Today is a great day to have a Self Care Sunday. I don’t know about you, but I need to be aware of taking care of myself during this crazy time or it might get the best of me. Today was the first day I felt “annoyed.” I have been stuck in my house for 16 days straight. When I say stuck in my house, I mean stuck.

Jump Around

Jump, Jump, Jump. Thanks Kriss Kross…maybe in 8 weeks.

A few weeks ago, I broke my foot. For me, it hasn’t been easy because I am a very active person. I went from putting on anywhere from 10,000-20,000+ steps a day to 100 or 200 (insert MAJOR eye roll). I have to exercise to get the ‘crazy’ out! Tomorrow I am starting a new fitness routine, one that doesn’t include putting any weight on my foot, so it should be interesting. You can only do so many bicep curls. I’ll let you know later in the week how it’s going.

I didn’t feel good for the first 8-9 days. The inflammation in my body was overwhelming. I was going through a lot of things and it all caught up to me at once. Honestly for awhile there, I thought I might need to head to the ER. That’s how awful I felt. Plus, when your mind starts wandering, things just go south fast. My foot looked pretty bad. Do I have a blood clot? Maybe I have blood poisoning? What if I caught CoVid? Maybe I am finally having a heart attack. It sounds crazy and maybe it was, but I could not shut down.

A broken foot? Ain’t NOBODY got time for that.

Be Happy

Reading, journaling, deep breathing, and prayer is what got me through the days. It helped me get my mind right. My kids and my husband helped out a lot with grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning up. I am grateful for that. If you’re feeling a little anxious, take the time today for a little self care. Your mind and body will thank you for it. Self Care Sunday is a great time to refresh.

Some books I really enjoyed reading lately are The Lying Game and Where the Crawdads Sing. Currently, I am reading The Girl Who Played with Fire.

Here are a few other ways to help restore the mind and body.

  2. Oh no! My daughter broke her toe last year at this time and she couldn’t do her competitive dance for weeks! But, I’m sure a broken foot is even worse! Take care! I am glad you’re on the mend.

Oh how sad for your daughter! I’ve broken a toe and it doesn’t feel good either. Ugh.
