When it comes to choosing between a save or splurge outfit. I personally like to mix it up with a little of both save and splurge.  Mostly save for me though!

Ultimately, the decision between a save or splurge outfit comes down to your own priorities and budget. Consider how often you plan to wear the outfit, the occasion, and the overall value of the pieces you are considering.

Save or Splurge Considerations

  • If you’re on a tight budget, a save outfit may be the better choice. Look for affordable pieces that you can mix and match to create different outfits.
  • Focus on classic styles that will last for multiple seasons, rather than trendy pieces that may go out of style quickly.
  • Check for sales and clearance events at your favorite stores.
  • Thrift stores and consignment shops can be a great source of affordable clothing. You can often find high-quality items for a fraction of the price you would pay at a traditional retail store. It’s amazing the things you can find with a little time and patience.
  • If you like to go for an occasional splurge, look for the classic pieces that will withstand the test of time.
  • If it’s not in the budget for an entire splurge but you appreciate the occasional splurge.  Simply mix and match those pieces with more affordable options. This will help you create that high-end look and you won’t break the bank creating it!
  • Look for well-made clothing from reputable designers or brands that use high-quality materials. These pieces may be more expensive, but they can last for years and often have a timeless style.

Mix it Up

This would be a typical look I would create by mixing it up a bit. My investment pieces tend to lean towards a great bag, sunglasses and the very rare occasion I’ll invest in a quality pair of shoes. Not that I don’t love these jeans but I have to consider the fact that wearing jeans is not a high priority for me. I have to ask myself, how often will you wear this piece and usually if its a top or jeans the answer is…not enough for that investment.

A stylish and functional wardrobe can truly be achieved at any price point. It all comes down to your personal preference and your budget.

What is your preference? Save, splurge or both?
