Quick and Easy Burger Bombs Offer Comfort

If you’re looking for a comfort food, let me introduce you to Burger Bombs and if there is one thing we need right now, it’s comfort. They say food is the key to the heart and I believe it. Remember how great it was to go to grandma’s house? Mine would always make the best food. My best memories always included fresh buns and iced tea.

Of course, we want to keep it all in balance, but a little burger now and then isn’t going to hurt anyone. Burger Bombs are a quick and easy way to get dinner on without making a big mess. They are perfect for kids as a quick snack…especially once they start having friends over again.

Ingredients

  • Two pounds hamburger
  • 1/2 white onion diced (more if desired)
  • Cheese – Shredded or cut slices
  • Bacon bits – Fresh or bagged
  • Burger seasoning
  • Sesame seeds
  • Pillsbury Biscuits or other dough
  • Other toppings – Pickles, ketchup, mustard, peppers, etc.

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Fry bacon if using fresh. Next, use bacon drippings to fry up hamburger and onion. Season. Add garlic if desired. Set aside. Take your biscuit and press out dough on cake sheet. Add hamburger mix, bacon bits, cheese, & pickles or other toppings as desired. Fold sides up and together to form a ball. Press all sides together so you can’t see any of the burger. Place the burgers seam side down. Brush the top of the Burger Bombs with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Notes: If you use a cheese slice, cut the slice in strips. Put the slice on top of the dough and the toppings next. This method makes for a cheesier Burger Bomb. You also can add to the top. Really either way works.

Burger Bombs are sure to be a crowd pleaser. They have quickly become my go to for quick lake time snacks. Enjoy!

Serve on a cutting board for more appeal.
