Have Fun in the Sun with a Tropical Wardrobe

Are you headed south and ready to start shopping for your tropical vacation wardrobe? Let’s face it. No matter how many swim suits we have, we always think we need just one more for our winter get away. Maybe it’s because it’s fun to put on something new and what a better place to show off your new suit? Every year we plan our winter escape, I think to myself, now this time I don’t need anything new. But then I see the cutest coverup or the perfect dress to compliment my awesome vacation.

Here’s an all inclusive list for your winter vacay of some of our current favorites, as well as some items that are in our shopping cart. Just think of us as your own personal shopper. If you have something you want us to search for, let us know. We’ve helped out a few different people when they are looking for something specific. Shopping can be a huge time drain, so that’s why we are here to help 🙂 Finally, have fun!

Shirts

Top Favorite = Simple tank tops and t-shirts go with everything! I always pack solid colors of both. Perfect for day trips or for a morning walk on the beach.

Pants

Top Favorite = Linen pants are a must when you travel. I have a couple pair of Roxy beach pants I have had for years. I love wearing them with a tank top and flip flops. You can also throw them on with your swim suit for the beach or pool. Even though you are headed somewhere warm, it can be cool in the mornings or at night. Pants are a must for every tropical wardrobe.

Shorts

Top Favorite = I have a tie here between American Eagle and Roxy. The AE distressed shorts are fun to wear with your solid tank or tee for a casual, laid back look. The linen Roxy shorts can be worn down to the pool or are super comfortable for an excursion.

Dresses

Top Favorite = I always plan to pack a maxi dress (or three) when planning my tropical wardrobe. They are so versatile. Wear them to dinner or even to the pool as a coverup. The perfect dress to dress up or down.

Sweaters + Kimonos + Jackets

Top Favorite = I love packing a light weight kimono. You can wear it again as a coverup or over a cute top. Some even look good over your evening dress. They add that little extra warmth you need on cool evenings. Another thing to consider for your tropical wardrobe is a jacket. A cute jean jacket always does the trick!

Swimsuits

Top Favorite = I always have several bikini’s I bring, but my favorite basic swimsuit is from Athleta. They are worth every penny. I’m not quite on the high waist train for bottoms, so personally, I hope they go away fast.

Cover-ups

Top Favorite = I always pick a coverup that doubles as a dress. There have been several times that we’ve picked up spontaneously and went to lunch or on a boat ride. You’ll never know where the tide is going to take us. This way, I don’t need to run back up to my room to grab something to wear.

Accessories

Top Favorite = This one is easy. A sun hat! Save your face from the sun. Plus you hardly have to do your hair! Beach hair, don’t care.

Shoes

Top Favorite = This depends on what I’m doing. I love Sam Edelman flip flops and have several pair due to their lovely $30 price tag. But if I’m going on an excursion, I always wear my Chacos. Always pack a dress shoe for evening because most places don’t allow flip flops, even if they are Millers.

Bags

Top Favorite = Packing Cubes are the best discovery yet. They save a ton of room in your suitcase. It is very rare we check luggage, so I need all the space we can get.

Beauty

Top Favorite = My favorite facial sunscreen is Elta MD. My skin is so sensitive and this sunscreen does not cause any breakouts! I will use for years and years to come.
