Green Smoothie {Kale, Mango & Banana}

Ingredients:

Blend a handful of kale, add 1 cup of mango, one banana, one cup of coconut water and 1 Tbsp of crushed chia seeds (optional).

  1. Mangoes – Are packed with nutrients and high in antioxidants. They help alkalize the body to maintain healthy pH levels through it’s electrolyte minerals.
  2. Bananas – Bromelain found in bananas helps aide in digestion inflammation. In addition to this inflammation buster it’s also high in  potassium which may also prevent high blood pressure.
  3. Kale – One of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Is a powerful antioxidant and high in fiber and iron.
  4. Coconut Water – Not only is it refreshing, it’s also an excellent way to hydrate, fast. Because of it’s electrolytes it can perform just as well as most sports drinks.
  5. Chia Seeds – These tiny seeds are packed full of nutrients and health benefits. Chia Seeds are a great energy booster packed with protein. I crave those simple energy boosters so I always add chia seeds to all of my smoothies. Did you know, Chia seeds contain 500% more calcium than milk.

Smoothies are my thing! It’s the perfect way to pack all of those nutrients in one spot. Because I have 5 pets and two kids our mornings always start out a little chaotic. Let’s not even get started on getting my teenage son to eat something green. This is a great way to camouflage those less than desirable veggies. Bananas and mangoes are a sure cover!
