Have you heard of CBD oil for the skin? Are you wondering what CBD oil even is? If you’re like me, when you hear “CBD,” you think of marijuana. At least I did! I was so uninformed.
Side note: I’m so inept when it comes to “pot,” I wasn’t quite sure of the proper spelling for marijuana. As I looked it up, I realized the first part of the word is “mari.” It dawned on me maybe this is why they call it Mary Jane?? Maybe that’s not even why, but I’m going to assume that’s the case. If it’s not, what a coincidence!
I was so against using anything related to “pot.” Until I learned…CBD is NOT marijuana.
What is CBD?
It’s short for cannabidiol which happens to be found in the cannabis plant. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the part that makes people “high.” CBD does NOT alter your state of mind and is not illegal in most states. CBD oil is diluted with some type of carrier oil. Herbivore’s Emerald includes not only hemp seed oil, but Squalane, and Meadowfoam Seed Oil. Hemp seed oil is incredibly rich in omega fatty acids, gamma linolenic acids, and vitamin E.
Another funny side note. I have been using Dr. Bronners soaps for years. I had NO IDEA there was hemp oil in the product. Be careful with what you agree with or don’t agree with. You might be surprised to find out that you are already using these ingredients.

How To Use Emerald:
The first thing I do is cleanse my face with Drunk Elephant’s Beste No 9 Jelly Cleanser. I then like to remove any excess hair with my Flawless Finishing Touch for Face. It helps get rid of hair that could clog pores or interfere with my makeup application. With all that hair gone, it will also help your skincare absorb better. Finally, I add about four drops of my Herbivore CBD oil. Sometimes I add the oil to my sunscreen as well. I use this product for dry and sensitive skin, as well as some redness.
