Get Fit in Octobrrr for Breast Cancer Awareness

Get fit in Octobrrr for breast cancer awareness month by taking our 30 day run/walk challenge and help us save second base. Not only does it help you, it helps other people. Helping = joy! October is still fairly nice out, so get outside and enjoy the crisp air. Some days might give you a little brrr, but you’ll warm up fast once you get moving.

Think about your goals before you get started. Do you want to lose weight? Feel better? Have better mental health? Create a new habit? Donate to a good cause? There are so many reasons to start this challenge. Get your family involved or grab a friend. Everyone can benefit.

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and because this cause hits home to both Sherry and I, we wanted to find a fun way to not only give ourselves a challenge, but to give to others as well.

Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to reduce your risk of breast cancer.

What is the challenge?

Walk or run a minimum of one mile per day, every day for 30 days. This may sound easy since it’s only one mile. Believe me, it’s not! There are days when you are not going to feel like doing this. Push yourself. Even if you walk in place or around your living room, you can get one mile in each day. With hard work, comes rewards.

For each mile you walk or run, you donate $1/mile to breast cancer research. Give what you feel led to. Not really a hard rule, just a general guideline.

When does it start?

October 1-30, 2020 (you get Halloween off to eat candy, ha!!)

Who Can Participate?

Everyone!

Rules

  1. You must follow Just Live Joy on Facebook and tag one friend during the challenge. Also, we will be using our new group 30 Day Joy Challenge going forward to keep our main feed clear of the challenges. Join here.
  2. Walk or run a minimum of one mile per day for 30 days
  3. Comment every day under our 30 day challenge post for the day. It can be an emoji, checkmark, feeling, comment, pictures, or whatever you want it to be just as long as you comment. This will hold you accountable. When you have to take an action, you are more likely to do it. This will also enter you into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the challenge. Each comment is another chance to win
  4. Donate $1/ mile for breast cancer research at the end of the challenge

Sounds like a great activity to do in october. It’s getting colder & is increasingly harder to spend time outdoors. So important to get out & walk. Plus I love that it benefits breastcancer research.
