One of the main goals we strive for here at Just Live Joy is to find those clean products that really do work. So during a casual shopping day at Sephora, Drunk Elephant grabbed me from across the room. I LOVE elephants so much it’s ridiculous. I’ll save that for another day. Which brings me to the name Drunk Elephant. It’s a known myth in Africa that elephants get drunk by eating the fermented fruit from Murula trees that have fallen on the ground. Which brings us to the name, as Murula oil is one of the key ingredients in their products.
I’ve been using Beste No.9 Jelly cleanser for almost two years now and it is seriously, the best. I’ve never been able to find anything that competes. It’s dye and fragrance free which are two biggies for me. I don’t mind scent but there is nothing worse than finding a product that works but stinks or vice versa. My skin feels amazing after I use it. But I’ve taken breaks from it to explore new brands but again, come back to this every single time.
Ingredients:
- Mild surfactant blend: a stack of mild cleansing agents, including coconut-based surfactants rich in fatty acids, that work together to create a rich foam that effectively dissolves even stubborn makeup, sunscreen and oils while supporting the healthy barrier of skin.
- Virgin marula oil: high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, this nourishing oil boosts the cleansing and makeup-removal power.
- Glycerin: a skin-identical humectant, helps replenish hydration levels that are normally lost in skin during the cleansing process.
- Cucumis melo cantalupensis (cantaloupe) fruit extract: rich in antioxidants, helps soothe and hydrate.

How to use:
They suggest only using cleanser at night but I use it morning and night and haven’t had any issues. It’s so refreshing, I can’t imagine not using it in the morning. Gently massage over wet or dry face rinse, pat dry and add the Protini polypeptide cream.
