Dorm Room Essentials

We can hardly believe it’s that time of year already! Back to school and for some students, it’s their first year of college. Brandi just moved her son into his dorm room and is officially an empty nester. How is that possible!

This week we’ll be sharing some dorm room inspiration.

  • Well of course sheets. It’s always fun to get your own theme going especially for your first official space.
  • There is almost certain to be some late study nights that will require lots of coffee.
  • My college days are far from over and I still need one of these calendars to manage my days. Anyone else?
  • A mobile utility cart is good for so many things. Especially in those small spaces.
  • A lamp that is not too big and perfect for those tight quarters.
  • A comfortable comforter.
  • Towel sets at a decent price point.
  • This versatile tote is perfect to transfer all of that laundry.
  • Cute pillows to brighten up that boring room.

Hurry and get in on the Serena and Lily sale! Use the code: WAVES for additional savings.

This is a great summer blues (in a good way) look for your summer porch or outdoor patio! Granted the items are a splurge but they are built to last.

I agree with all of these, and I’d add some fairy lights and a plant for the finishing touches 🙂

I remember living in a dorm. The biggest thing for me that really made it feel like ‘home’ was my bedding and a super soft floor mat that I placed next to my bed so that I could feel it under my feet each time that I got up. That really did make a world of difference!
Are students going back to the dorms in your area? Here, the school had declared that all classes will be online for the first semester at least in order to try to limit any spread of COVID.

I love all of these suggestions, I filled mine with cushions and throw blankets to make it feel more homely when I was there. And I definitely needed my coffee pot in my room as well x

  4. We agree. We had a lot of similar things when we were in college. Coffee was most important.
