Dorm Room Essentials for [Good Vibes] Only

Give Your Dorm Room Good Vibes

Wait a minute. Weren’t you just five years old a second ago? Now you’re all grown up and going to college! SOBS! This is one of the hardest transitions for both kid and parent. How did this happen so fast? But believe me, this is a good thing. A very good thing! You want your child to grow and become an adult.

To make things a little easier, buy your dorm room essentials from the comfort of your own home. Let me tell you, move in day is nuts! People everywhere. Cars everywhere. Excitement, emotions, and high energy all around.

This look is cute and cozy and will make you feel right at home.

  1. Who doesn’t need this pillow when you’re in college? It’s all too easy to just say I’m going to skip class today…and guess what?! Your mom will never know.
  2. College can be stressful! When you are feeling down and out, snuggle up to your Good Vibes pillow and let the happiness fill you back up.
  3. My daughter bought this comforter set when she went off to college. It’s so comfortable and beautiful. I want to buy it for our spare bedroom at home. It’s a good basic you can add color accents to.
  4. Every kid needs a vacuum. Sorry mom isn’t there to do that job anymore. Welcome to adulting.
  5. These sheets are so crazy and cute! I’d love to slip into these each night. You can also try these.
  6. Add a splash of classy to your dorm room with this marble wall tapestry. Dorm rooms are so cold and ugly for the most part. You can cover most of the wall up and add some major decor with one piece.
  7. Believe me, you are going to need a fan. It is going to be HOT the first month or so. You’re sleeping in a tiny little room with other peeps and more than likely having sleep overs. Get a fan ASAP.
  8. Everyone needs a cozy chair in their dorm room. This is a perfect transition piece to take with you to your first apartment.
  9. You’re going to need a lot of ways to get the most out of your space and this is an easy organizer for your closet. Fill it up with your undergarments, towels, sweatshirts, and more. A huge space saver.
  10. If you are a kid, you know what this is and why you need it. Don’t leave home without it.
  11. You will more than likely have access to a community printer at college. Who wants to traipse all around campus in the dead of winter to print off your paper that’s due tomorrow. Grab this printer, along with some paper and ink and stay cozy in your cute dorm room.
  12. Yup, you’re going to need these. Nasty, community shower. Ew.
  13. Another space saver. You’re going to have a desk and this is a great way to stay organized. Don’t forget all the essentials to fill it up!
  14. This is one of those essentials.
  15. Please buy a garbage can and take your garbage out. The second part is key.
  16. Finally, you need a shower caddy to carry to the shower with all your fun smelling shampoos and soaps, while wearing your cool shower sandals of course.

Other Must Have Items:

A major must have for all dorm rooms is a comfortable mattress topper. If you don’t have one of these, you might not sleep. This was the FIRST thing we bought our daughter.

A few other items that are must have’s are fairy lights or christmas lights and a cozy rug. Don’t forget black out curtains and a blanket with pillows to snuggle up with while you are studying. You are going to study, right?!

Have fun at college. The first week or two, you are probably going to be a little sad. It’s a big change! Remember going to camp? The first couple of days were a little brutal, but then it turned out to be the best time of your life. Enjoy college. It’s fun and exciting and you will look back one day and remember all the memories you created.

Note to mom and dad. You will cry. You will cry a lot. You’re sending your baby off into the big world and they are no longer under your care. I still cry and I’ve been at this a long time. They might not call every day, or even every week. It’s a great time for them to explore and find their new normal. They still love you and they still need you. Believe me.

It’s hard to believe how fast the time goes. Everyone says it, but you don’t believe it until it actually happens to you. Each day is a gift. So cliche, but so true. It’s all good.
