Clear Your Mind, Take a Walk In Nature

Walking in nature has been the one thing that has helped me keep my sanity throughout this social distancing and quarantine period. For the most part I wake up around 5am and try to get out the door by 7 to get those steps in or I might not do it for the rest of the day. It’s cooler this time of day but there are also less people doing the same thing I am. We have an active community so social distancing while exercising is a little challenging but for the most part everyone is very respectful about providing at least 6 ft of space.

Walking for at least 30 minutes per day can really help improve your overall health and wellness. Mentally and physically. It’s a time when some of my most creative thoughts are born.

Benefits of Walking

  • Helps build muscle
  • Improves balance
  • Improves your endurance
  • Increases muscle
  • Reduces body fat

Walking in nature is beneficial in so many ways. It can bring on a feeling of calm and relaxation almost instantly. Feeling stressed or simply having a bad day? Take a walk in nature to decompress. It can help clear your mind of anxious thoughts and agitation. Sometimes its difficult to think about taking those 30 minutes out of your day but it’s so worth it. Not only is it good for the health of your body it’s also is good for your mind, body and soul. Clear your mind of the clutter and regain some clarity! Get out there for a nature walk!

That’s such great news! I’m so glad you and your son get walks in together. If nothing else I think its given families a chance to bond in that way. Our beach parks have opened again so we can get walks in on the beach and different hikes on the island. We were so happy!!

  3. Nature walks are my favorite form of exercise! But the weather will not cooperate! For every mild sunny day, we get 6 or 7 days of rain. So indoor yoga has been my go to, but man, I do want to walk outdoors more! Thanks for sharing this wonderful post.
