Save a Cat or Three
My husband is a farmers and one day he was driving near one of his fields and he saw something being thrown in the air. He was curious, so he went to check it out. Here it was a dog throwing these three kittens up in the air. They were all near death. He rushed them to the vet’s office right away to see if they could be saved. The vet worked on them and she thought 2 of the 3 would survive. The tiger striped cat didn’t have much of a chance. By the end of the day, the vet called him and was able to get all three ready to go home.
They were very little, so they had to be bottle fed. The striped one had a broken rib, so we had to be very careful with her. I always wanted ONE indoor cat. Now I have three! I won’t complain though because they are all indoor/outdoor cats for the most part since we live in the country. They now rule the roost in a major way.
Meet Rosie, Clover, and Allan
The black and white cat is named Rosie and she is the queen. She goes to the lake with us and she has a special box to sleep in. She sleeps on her pillow each night between my husband and I.
Clover, the lucky striped cat, is slowly trying to take over Rosie’s spot. She hunts all day and comes back for major cuddles. My husband and I actually have sleepless nights because we don’t want to disturb the ‘babies’ in the bed all cuddled up and sleeping.
Allan Jackson is the red one. We call him “Chef Allan” because every time I cook, he’s right there watching every move. He’s the most mellow cat you could ever meet. He goes out to hunt every night and is waiting by the door every morning, so he can go to his blanket for his all day nap.
Needless to say, these three rescue’s have become a major part of our family. Lately, they have been having a little bit of stomach trouble, so we switched them to the sensitive stomach cat food. So far, so good!
