Our 5 fashion favorites may look the same even though we are from very different places. I’m from North Dakota and she’s from Hawaii. Polar opposites if you ask me. Last week she would text and say “I’m dying here it’s so hot,” as I’m looking out the window at the two inches of snow that just fell. Yes, it is April. There’s only one emoji that comes to mind after this conversation, yup, you know the one….eye rolling.
Even though I’m giving the eye rolling emoji, she’s giving me one right back. She’s a little envious about several things that I have that she doesn’t…cheaper everything [Hawaii’s cost of living is quite high], limited housing market, and live entertainment can be scarce because it’s too expensive for groups to travel there to perform. All that aside, I can tell you all the reasons why she’s still lucky. Weather, beach, and weather. Did I mention weather?

Before we say goodbye, you might want to realize how this process works in the midwest. First, we say goodbye. Next, we walk you to the door and say goodbye again. Wait, stop and give a hug. Say goodbye again. As we stand there, we hold on to door handle for awhile chatting some more. Goodbye again. Now I will walk you to your car. Goodbye again. I decide to pound on your car window “Just one more thing“. Goodbye again. Yup. 45 minutes later and you might get to actually leave, might being the key word. We hate to see you go…so this is not goodbye but a ‘until next time.’
