Today I’m planning our Memorial Day festivities! Can you believe Memorial Day weekend is coming up!! I can’t and I also can’t believe the kids are in their final week of school. I’m really looking forward to summer and Memorial Day is always that holiday that sets the tone and gets us ready for the summer season! I thought I’d throw together what we’ll be doing! First up S’mores which is not a common thing to kick off summer break but we all had a craving and since there will be a fire pit, why not! Then of course the obligatory hotdogs, hamburgers and potato salad. Overall, it will be a low-key day with lots of food.
- It was time for some new campfire skewers and I loved these from the Hearth and Hand line!
- Of course Graham Crackers, marshmallows and Hershey’s Chocolate
- I love to keep a big pitcher of water with lemons anytime we’re entertaining.
- These platters are so perfect for camping and BBQ’s
- Can we ever have too many of these food domes?
- Bowls for the potato salad and the coleslaw
- Bucket to fill with drinks
- These glasses are great with the red, white and blue theme
- Subtle napkins
- Great door mat for both Memorial Day and use it for the 4th of July too!
- Why do I like this game so much! It always manages to get the family competitions going!
What to Wear for Memorial Day
I love wearing a thematic t-shirt, simple pair of distressed jeans or jean shorts with Chuck Taylor sneakers! Keep it simple and comfortable!

Although, it’s a great time to have a gathering, let’s not forget to honor and mourn our United States military personnel who have sacrificed for our freedoms. We think of you on this day and we thank you.
