It’s been a long quarantine for all of us. Never have a missed sitting on the beach so much and I am not even a beach person. With home school finally wrapping up we’ve had the opportunity to spend a few days lounging in the sand and bouncing around in the waves. For me….simply floating in the ocean did the trick.
Speaking of floating, have you all heard of float therapy? In a float tank? Sounds a little scary right?
“An isolation tank, often referred to as a sensory deprivation tank is a pitch-black, light-proof, soundproof environment heated to the same temperature as the skin. Flotation tanks are widely advertised as a form of alternative medicine, but beneficial health effects are unproven.” Wikipedia

I’m not sure about a float tank but I do know floating in the ocean provides a serenity like nothing else. Although I am intrigued by the idea of being completely isolated. Interesting. If we try it you’ll be the first to hear about the experience. For now we will be sitting in the sand with breaks to cool off in the ocean for our therapy. It works!!
Here are a few of my beach must haves!!
Beach Day
- Pop surf elongated Roxy bikini
- Sun Bum – my daughter must have reapplied 50 times yesterday but you’ve heard us lecture about sunscreen. Imagine being one of our children. 😉
- Brandi and I have both had our Ray Ban Wayfarers for YEARS!! I’ve been looking for a new pair for months….I think theses are the next for us.
- A beach hate is a must have. Trucker hats are good but these offer a little more coverage.
- Stand up paddle board is such a great way to get some exercise on the water.
- Last but not least…..because we have at LEAST five pairs on our front porch right now. The Havainas! I’ve always loved these flip-flops!

This is a great summer blues (in a good way) look for your summer porch or outdoor patio! Granted the items are a splurge but they are built to last.
