Today I thought I’d take you on a memory lane trip. If that dates me, I don’t care. AC/DC and Def Leopard! Yes, please! Take me back to the 80’s! My husband and I watched the Netflix series Cobra Kai recently and we’ve decided things were a lot better in those days. Maybe that’s just a person in her 40’s  talking. I mean, I can clearly remember my parents talking about how their generation was so much better than ours. Gone are the days of latchkey kids, Scooby Doo as a baby sitter (watching with a big bowl of cereal) and coming home when the street lights turned on. Truthfully Brandi and I didn’t have street lights, we both lived on farms in the middle of no where.

Don’t even get me started on the big hair days! I still believe that was the best hairstyle ever…..orrr….the most talked about anyway. Brandi and I have some pretty interesting photos of our youth. Two girls with giant hair styled with more White Rain and Aquanet than you could possibly imagine (hello, where are my brain cells after that). We would crank AC/DC and Def Leopard while we cruised in Brandi’s little Volkswagen Rabbit to the cool town that had all the street dances. Do people still go to street dances? Good times for real!

AC/DC Outfit Details

Ok, AC/DC fans!! What’s your favorite song? Please leave a comment and let us know. Mine is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

Def Leopard Outfit Details

Now it’s time for Def Leopard to take the stage. Favorite song? Do tell? Mine is probably Love Bites.

If you’re interested in other Graphic T-shirts looks check out our Three Ways to Wear a Graphic Tee. Now I’ll leave you all with a flashback of your Just Live Joy girls. I’m thinking this was about 1989. This is back in the days that our version of finding the perfect outfit was to rip several ideas out of a mountain of magazine and tape them to a piece of paper. My how times have changed. I guess 2020 isn’t all bad. A lot less effort goes into finding that perfect ensemble.

If you could still fit through the door, you didn’t tease your hair enough. We ratted ours endlessly to get it to that height. Picture these girls with that hair in a tiny VW Rabbit. Comical, it was. Days I wouldn’t change for the world.

  1. These are both such great band tees. I love the vintage vibe and the 80’s inspired outfits with the perfect modern feel. I also am loving your big hair photo! I kind of had big hair in the 80’s but I always had very short hair back then so I couldn’t get it nearly as big as the long haired girls! Thanks for sharing this fun walk down memory lane and linking your fab outfits with me! Oh and Dirty Deeds is my favorite AC/DC song, too. I have a Def Leppard tank top but I honestly don’t really like any of their songs!

I’m loving the graphic tees and your big hair!!! I JAM to 80s music and would have loved to be alive in that era. I got a crimper for Christmas because I love the big hair so much… And as a member of Gen Z (ugh) I completely agree that things were better then, and I wasn’t even alive. My generation is the worst, ha!

That’s so cute! I love that you got a crimper Grace! I actually forgot about those until you mentioned it!! LOL!! I can remember the excitement when I got mine way back when!! I think every generation has their thing. Without Gen-Z we would’ve never experienced technology like we do now. Our generation was all about big hair and calling in our song requests to our local radio station. How lucky are we now to just listen to whatever we want, whenever we want. Thanks so much for stopping by!!
