3 Ways to Plan Your Perfect Picnic

Now is the time to start planning for a perfect picnic. With social distancing in place, you can go anywhere remote with your loved ones and enjoy the outdoors, especially now that the weather is finally cooperating.

1.Plan your destination. Find a nice view with some flat ground where you can lay out your picnic blanket. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting in nature while having some wine and crackers.

2. Plan your menu. Cold items are usually the best thing to pack. Also, choose items that are easy to transport and serve. A charcuterie board full of meats, cheese, pickles, crackers, nuts, fruits and veggies are a great way to fill up your belly. You can pack some side salads (try this recipe) and tea sandwiches are also a classy choice. If you have time, make up some veggie pizza to pack as well. So delicious and easy! Don’t forget your baguette bread. Finally, plan your drinks. Will you have wine or perhaps lemonade?

3. Start packing. Some items you will need for a perfect picnic include:

  • Picnic blanket
  • Picnic basket
  • To go containers
  • Plates, napkins, + silverware
  • Charcuterie board
  • Wine cooler or juice pitcher
  • Glasses

Last, but not least, eat, drink, and be merry.

This is a great summer blues (in a good way) look for your summer porch or outdoor patio! Granted the items are a splurge but they are built to last.

This would make for such an elegant picnic. We are in early autumn in New Zealand, but I am so over restaurants and cafes, and really hanging out to do the picnic thing. With tea sandwiches. Yum.
