This has proven to be one of my favorites cookies to bake for my Valentines Day loves.
- Bag of Hershey’s Kisses
- 1 Cup Confectioners Sugar
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup of Butter
- 2 tbsp juice from Maraschino Cherries (most recipes call for less but I like them to have a little more cherry flavor)
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 3/4 Cup Maraschino Cherries (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- (Optional) 4-6 drops of food coloring
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
First I beat the butter and confectioners sugar then add the almond extract and maraschino juice. Slowly begin to add the flour with 1/2 tsp salt. At the end gently stir in the the cherries.
Roll into balls about an inch. Place on baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the bottom becomes a golden tan color. Once you take them out of the oven, immediately press a Hershey’s kiss into the center of each of the cookies.
