Have you heard about these freaky new rubber masks for all kinds of skin issues? I hadn’t until I went to Sephora looking for a sheet mask for some dehydrated skin. She directed to me to these new Dr. Jart’s+ Shake & Shot rubber masks.
I took one look at the packaging and thought, ya, these are going to be expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were $12 a piece. The packaging is so cool! I was a little intimidated at first, but after reading the directions and putting it on, I was a lot less nervous.
I also was a little concerned about the word “rubber” on something I was about to put on my super sensitive skin. Let me tell you, all those worries were for not. Do you know that over 90% of things we worry about never come to pass? Interesting.
Directions:
My daughter and I opened up our formula and combined step 1 and step 2 into the cup. Close the lid, cover the hole with your finger (this is an important step-ha!), and shake it. Go ahead. Shake your bootie while you shake your mask up.
After you’re done shaking it, your bootie and your mask, let it sit for a couple minutes to thicken up (no more than three minutes). It turns a pale blue color.
Next, using the spatula, apply an even layer over your entire face. There’s a lot of product, so you’ll be able to apply it thick and even down your neck if you want to. Do not apply this to your eyes or mouth. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. I go for the full 20.
Finally, and this is the best part, starting from the edges, peel off the mask to reveal your beautifully moisturized face. After you have cleaned all the mask off, remember to moisturize again. Try our recommendations here.
